Fab n Funky Challenge - Spots and Stripes

Hi All,

Hope everyone is good today, things are hectic around here just now with half term but at least it's good to be out of the normal school routine!

Today is another great challenge over at Fab n Funky.  Today it is Spots and stripes or both.

The sponsors toady are:

StampArt Design by Kathryne

Prize: 5 Digis

Colour Me Creative Classroom

Prize -copic class by Suzanne

For my card I chose a StampArt by Kathryne image - Little bunny's Easter Eggs.

I decided to make an easel card and thought the image suited the theme of the challenge well with the stripy egg. The papers I used are all my Mind's Eye.  I coloured the image with pro markers and used cosmic shimmer white for the dots.

Hope you like!

Crafting from the heart Challenge #7 Anything Goes/Use Flowers

Hi All,

Well it's been a hectic couple of weeks!  The kids are now on half term, parents are visiting  and all is good, with a tiny bit of spare time for crafting!  Phew!

Today I am sharing my card for the Challenge over at Crafting from the Heart.  Today the Challenge is Anything Goes/Use Flowers.

The sponsors today are

Aurora Wings
AuroraWings
prize - $15 Voucher

Meljens
Meljens
prize - 3 digis

My card is using an Aurora Wings image.  I found it quite challenging as it is a departure from my normal style but actually I quite like the overall effect.

I used my new pen crush - Wink of stella to colour the image in so actually the entire thing is quite shimmery but you can't really see that from the photo which is a real shame.  The peacock feather I love!!  My flowers are die cut in white card and coloured using a wink of stella pen.  The flourish is die cut in green card and wink of stella'd with the clear pen.  My base card is made up using the Grand Spellbinder dies and the front section I embossed before sticking them together.

I hope you like! x

Fab n Funky Challenge - "Calling all Brads"

Hi there,  how are you all today?  I have had a very busy few days this week with work, kids and crafting!  The crafting I enjoy  (and of course the kids!) but my printer has been playing up which has made it a bit difficult to print the images I need for DT cards due!  As a result I am chasing my tail tonight with this last minute make for the Fab n Funky Challenge this week!  The theme is Calling all Brads - use brads anywhere on your project.

The sponsor this week is Kenny K

with a prize of 5 Digis

Despite my last minute dash to complete my card on time, once my printer behaved, I had loads of fun with the image I had which was  Boogie Down.

 Here's my creation!

I used a Little Clare's tag card as my base, coloured the image with pro markers and used off cuts of my favourite paper - My Mind's Eye, Dolled up paper.  The brads that I have used are also My Mind's Eye, Dolled Up.  I wanted to find a quote that might inspire an awkward teenager (my daughter!) and so I checked out the  Quote Garden website and found this great quote by Terri Guillemets.  I thought it was a nice sentiment, however I apologise if I have inadvertently used the quote incorrectly.

Anyway,  I really hope you like the card.  I think it's fun and quirky (a bit like my daughter).

Crafting from the heart challenge #6 - Anything Goes/Use Red

Hi,  Monday morning - Boo!!  But cheered up by a lovely new challenge over at Crafting from the Heart Challenge Blog!  Yay!!

This is my first post as part of the Crafting from the Heart DT which I am very excited about!!  so here it is....  Challenge #6 - Anything Goes/Use red.

The sponsors this week are:

Stampart by Kathryne

5 Digi images for the winner!

Dilly Beans

3 Digi images for the winner!

Before I show you my card though - an admin point to note for the Crafting from the heart Challenge blog - Challenge will change from fortnightly to weekly from 3 March!  Take note and advantage of more challenges and more prizes up for grabs!!

Now on to my card - I chose an image by Dilly Beans as it's near Valentine's Day and I thought this image was particularly cute!

I used a shaped base card and lined the inside with red cardstock and covered the front with some Crate Paper which I love.  I printed the image a couple of times, once to colour and again just to use the hearts once coloured.  I then printed it again on the Crate paper just to get one of the hearts with the wording on it - by sheer luck on had cupid right in the middle which I loved (I would like to say that was planned but no just happy fluke!).  I cut a couple of words out of the paper to add to the side of the mat and layered image.  I doodled around the edges of everything to try and match the style of the image and then assembled all together.  I glazed all of the hearts both cut out and on the image but you can't really see that in the picture!  The image is so cute though isn't it?  I am becoming a huge Dilly Beans fan!  Hope you like x

Holding out for Spring........

Hi All

After a slow start we have finally dragged ourselves into February!  Woohoo, days will get longer and we should soon see some bulb shoots popping up to mark Spring coming.  I can't wait - Spring is my favourite season!!

It's time for the February Challenge over at Cards Galore Encore and the theme is "Bling it up".  Add a wee gem or a dab of glitter to qualify for the challenge and who doesn't love a wee bit of bling!

The sponsor of this month's challenge is Scrappers Delights.

The lucky winner will win a prize.

For my DT card, I used the following sketch as inspiration for my card:

Check out their blog for great ideas and inspiration: My Favourite Things

Anyway, now on to my card!  I used the Nerissa Mermaid Digi Stamp

Now on to how I put it together.

I printed four images on one sheet of A4 using Pearl Cardstock.  I coloured one of the images using my pro markers.  To bling her up I cut the tail out of another one of the images to create a tail aperture.  I laid this over my coloured image and sprayed some Crafter's Companion Spray and Sparkle to make the tail nice and sparkly.  I chose some backing paper form my stash - Paper Heart by Crate Paper and used it as the background paper.  I also used paper from the same range for the strips.  I stamped Dream, Explore and Journey on each of the strips and embossed them.  These words were from Life Sentiments Set by Kaiser Craft.  I die cut some aqua glitter paper (more bling) and assembled everything together adding a final touch of pink gems at the end.  I went from being unsure that I would like the card to loving the final look!  Hope you like!
