The sponsors are:

Sassy Studio Designs
offering a prize of 4 digi images
Sassy Studio Designs
and

Lacy Sunshine

My card is another Christmas card (trying hard to get prepared!) and I am using Bubble Ice skating from Lacy Sunshine.  Hope you like x

I coloured Bubbles using pro markers and layered all up using Kraft card and some lovely Be Merry backing papers.  I embossed the oval die card with a snowflake embossing folder, inked all the edges with walnut stain and added a Little Claire sentiment.  I doodled some faux stitching round everything.  My wee snowflake embellishments are two that I had made a long tome ago, they arte wood chip shapes which I painted with gesso and stamped with a blue flourish, then added embossing powder and a sprinkle of mica powder for a bit of shimmer!

Crafts Galore Encore - June Challenge

My my my June already!!!  Where does the time go?  I have spent the last few days trying to tame my wilderness of a garden and now I ache all over from weeding and raking etc etc!  Anyway onto more fun things - it's time for the new challenge over at Crafts Galore Encore!  Now hopefully blogger will behave as I seem to be having some issues!  I don't know if it me, my PC or Blogger but I will persevere in any case!

Sponsored by Beccy's Place, there are great prizes and blog badges!

My card uses Raspberry House and was something different for me as I realised I had never coloured wood before!  I think if I did it again I would go lighter on the wood or colour or paper piece it to make it look like it had been painted.  It would look great as a shabby chic house!  In any case I hope you like!

Fab n Funky Challenge

Hi All,

Time for another challenge over at Fab n Funky this week!  Hop over for some fun and prizes!!  It's a great challenge this week sponsored by:

Stampart Design by Kathryne

Who is offering a prize of 5 digi stamps to our chosen first prize winner
this winner also has the chance of a GDT spot at Fab'n'Funky

and

Kenny K downloads

Also offering a prize of 5 digi stamps

This week's challenge is to make something drawing inspiration from the following picture

Now, my card uses a Kenny K image - Club Kid and so I didn't take the romantic inspiration that you might expect from the pictures but I absolutely love the colour combo and so I picked out those colours for my image.  I also love the hands with the gold on them and so I decided to use a similar effect on my card with Frantage.  I picked out some wood effect paper to make it look like she is leaning against a fence.  I had a great time doing this card!!  Hope you like!

Crafting from the Heart - Challenge 18 "Anything Goes"

Hi All,

Well after a bumper weekend what with my daughter's birthday I have finally made it through!  Having eight 12 year olds for a sleepover is actually quite hard work!

At least we can relax until the little one's birthday in August now so a bit of respite is called for in this week's Crafting from the Heart Challenge - as always "Anything Goes"

Sponsors this week are:
Sassy Studios
Offering a prize of 4 digi images
Sassy Studio Designs
and
A Random Fan
Prize to be arranged

My card this week uses Sassy Studios "Rainbow Bright"

I used the following sketch from this week's Sketchy colors challenge as my inspiration, just tweaking a little to suit the size and shape of my image:

I used my trusty Wink of Stella on her dress etc. but the pic doesn't really show how much she sparkles!  I also tried out some new colouring on her face with my pro markers and I quite like how she turned out!  Hope you like!

Fab n Funky - Challenge #214 Christmas

Hi all

My second post of this week!  Age 40 plus one day!!!!  Today it's time to get ahead with your Christmas (yes I did mention Christmas!!) prep and make a start on those cards!!  I know a lot of people don't send cards nowadays but I still love to take time and send one - sometimes with a wee catch up note or just to say I am thinking of people at that time.

Anyway this week the sponsor is:

Dr Digis House of Stamps

The winner gets to pick 2 images from the store.

My card uses the image Snow Fun and I think it will certainly appeal to my son's teenage sense of humour!  Poor snowman!!!  I kept it simple with a male recipient in mind.

Fab N Funky Challenge - Flower Power

Hi all.  Hope you are having a good Easer break if you are on holiday.  We have just returned from a few days away in Edinburgh.  It always makes me homesick when we go back to Scotland but then on the bright side we have come home to wonderful weather down South!

Today I am sharing another great challenge over at Fab n Funky and this week the theme is:

 Flower Power.

This week's sponsors are:

Dilly Beans offering 3 digis

offering 5 digis and the chance of a GDT spot to the winner of this prize.

My card uses a Dilly Beans image.  I just love Dilly Beans.  My image is called Hello Friend Framed and I think it lends itself well to this challenge.  Now, you may have noticed that I have a common theme at the moment with my recent cards.  I am loving a bit of acetate and also paper piecing!!  my challenge for my next card is to avoid both (unless it is a DT requirement of course!)  However I think the Dilly Beans images are perfect for paper piecing and I like the clean effect that you get from an acetate card so no apologies from me!  All papers are My Mind's Eye "Howdy Doody".  Hope you like!

Crafting from the Heart - Challenge 14 - Anything Goes/Use Yellow

Hi All,  Please forgive me for the slight delay in getting my post done today - I have been away for a few days with my family and didn't get home until the early hours of this morning!

This week's challenge over at Crafting from the Heart is Anything Goes/Use Yellow
The great sponsors are:

Scribble and Scrap
 offering a prize of a £15 voucher

Scribble and Scrap

Eureka
offering a prize of  5 digi images
Eureka Stamps

My DT card for this challenges uses Eureka "Bunny in Egg" and I decided to go with acetate this time.  I had a phase of acetate cards a while back and I forgot how much I love the look of acetate cards!  They are really easy to make but (I think) they look quite unusual in the end.

I also did a bit of paper piecing on the egg and coloured the bunny with pro markers.  My paper is My Mind's Eye "Sweetest Thing"  which I love.  My yellow theme is perhaps more mustard but hey ho!  Hope you like x

Easter Tags

Hi All

Today I am sharing with you some Easter Tags that I made for a friend - she wanted 15 at short notice!   I decided to try and keep it simple and one layer but then that is easier said than done (I find anyway!).

I bought some luggage labels and set about decorating them.  I used wooden mounted stamps that I had in my stash by Art Impressions.  Bunny and Egg (small) and Dotted Happy Easter.  I also used the Stampin Up set "Tape It".  I used Stampin Up inkpads to stamp out the detail and Mememto for the bunny.  I coloured the egg using the same colours as the sentiment and the taped detail using a paintbrush.

I changed the white string to nice My Mind's Eye twine.

Hope you like x

I am entering my Tags for the following Challenges:

Fab n Funky Challenge #210 - Once Upon a Time...........

Hi there - well it's a feast or a famine with me just now!  I am sharing with you today the challenge over at Fab n Funky.

The theme is:

 'Once Upon a Time'

use images and papers that contain fantasy and/or fairytale creatures.

The fantastic sponsor this week is:

 Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet

The winner of this challenge will receive 3 images of their choice up to a $10 value, from any of the Stitchy Bear creators whose images were used in this challenge.

Now on to my tales of woe!  Due to technical difficulties I cant show the card I had intended for this challenge and had to rustle up this little card last minute!  I used the Crafter's companion stamp "Angelica" from the Angelica and friends collection.  I coloured her using pencils and used a die to cut the shaped card.  I used wink of Stella on the wings and her shoes but I am afraid you cannot really see this in the pic.  Please excuse the watermark too - it's a rough one that I had to use as my laptop has been giving me grief!

Anyway - here is my card:

Hi there

There are two prizes for April. Two winners will be able to choose two Kenny K digis each. One will be drawn at random and the other will be chosen.

Hope you like!  Kx

Fab n Funky Challenge #208 "Boys to Men"

Oh my goodness what a few weeks I have had!  Sorry for my absence recently but I was struck down by the dreaded lurgy for the last three weeks!  Completely out of action!

However barring a cough that could call the ships in, I am on the mend and feeling a bit more normal thank goodness.  Just in time for my first time hosting a challenge on behalf of team Funky over at Fab n Funky Challenges.

I chose the theme Boys to Men (or as some might recall Boys II Men!) which involves making a masculine card.  It can be for any age and any occasion but must be suitable for a male recipient!  I really struggle with masculine cards and you will rarely see me attempt them so I thought this was a good challenge to set myself (and would give me a chance to get some inspiration from the entries!)

The sponsors this week are

StampArt Design by Kathryne

Prize: 5 Digis

and

My Creative Classroom

The prize is a class of the winners choice
please see the website at www.mycreativeclassroom.com for details

and so on to my card using Majestic Eagle Head by StampArt by Kathryne

I decided that as I am very behind with a lot of cards due to being poorly, that I would try to catch up and use this opportunity to make my Dad a card.  I still need to decide if it is for Father's Day or my Dad's birthday and so I deliberately just put Dad on the front and once I decide then I will print off an insert with an appropriate sentiment inside to suit whichever occasion.  I kept the colours muted as I wanted the Eagle to be quite dramatic.  I used distress inks to colour the Eagle.  I then just mounted on black and Kraft card alternately, embossed some Kraft card for the background and printed off "Dad" (I used Algerian font) and mounted on black card then raised foam pads.  It is a simple card but I think (hope) my Dad will like it!  Hope you like! x

I would like to enter this card to the following challenges:

Everybody Art Challenge - Non Cute Card
Through the Craft Room Door - Always Anything Goes
Anyone for Anya? - Masculine or Grungy
Simply Create Too - Challenge #57- Animals

Crafting from the Heart Challenge - Anything Goes/Use Punches or Dies

Well hi everyone, hope you are all well.  Half term is over so everyone should be back to normal no?  Not in our house - 3 out of 5 of us have horrible colds-  me being one :(.  For some reason even my teeth hurt!

Anyway enough of my moaning!  It's time for a challenge - this time over at Crafting from the Heart where the challenge is Anything Goes/Use punches or dies.

The sponsors are:
Lacy Sunshine
Lacy Sunshine offering 3 digis
The Stamping Chef
Stamping Chef offering 3 digis

So, cold or no cold why not join in the fun?  This time I chose an image from both sponsors and this is what I came up with for my DT projects:

Using Lacy Sunshine - Lizabeth Butterfly Kisses

I decided to make a bag this time as I sometimes struggle with Gift bags etc for kids and I thought this would make a cute gift bag for a special birthday girl.  I used a circle punch to punch out the circles and I used Stampin Up thinlet Butterfly die for the butterflies and a circle die for behind Lizabeth.  I added pinflair glaze to make the butterflies shine.  The image is coloured with pro markers.  The background paper is embossed using a Creative Expressions Mask - The packet doesn't seem to have a name on it though but it is a butterfly/flower frame. The papers are my usual fave - My Mind's Eye. Add a bit of ribbon and voila!

Using Stamping Chef - Fairy Nuff

I thought that for this one I would try my hand at dip dye hair as I have seen it done a few times and thought that this image had some attitude to carry of the look!  Actually for my first attempt I was quite pleased however who knows if I can pull it off again!  Anyway I coloured her quite brightly - I was thinking Bollywood for some reason!¬  I used of course Wink of Stella on the wings and belt.  The rest was pro markers/flex markers.  The second pic shows the wings better.  When it came to putting the card together, it is fairly basic but I am afraid I am putting that down to my cold - I couldn't think straight to work out what to do!  I used spellbinders edgibilities for the green strip and an oval die around Fairy Nuff.  I cut round her wings a bit so that they would not be cut off by the die and to allow them to go beyond the oval.

Hope you like x

Spring Spring Spring!!

At last March is upon us!!  Hooray, nights getting lighter, mornings getting brighter and a few hours between rain showers!  Can only mean one thing -- Spring is on it's way - even the daffodils are popping up!

Today it's time to head over to the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge#3 which this month is to use a main image on your project.  It can be a digi stamp or a general stamp.

The sponsor this month is Glamoureyes

The prize is 5 digis and a surprise free stamp.

I decided for my DT card to use the Stampin' Up Swallowtail stamp.  I am in awe of people's clean and simple cards and so I decided this time to have a go.  Of course I used my pen crush - Wink of Stella to colour it in after I had heat embossed it.  I was going to add a sentiment, but in the end I liked the white space that was left.

Hope you like!

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Keep it Simple - Things with Wings
Jelly Park - Things with Wings
