Magic Birthday!

It is my nephew's birthday today and as he is Harry Potter mad, I made him this card. I made it using my first ever digi stamp which I got from Karber stamps. The sentiment is just done in Word using the shape tool and the name is cut on my cricut using the Don Juan cartridge. I resized the image as I wanted him large and I coloured him with pro markers. Hope you like (and I hope he likes it too!!) x

Today I thought that I would give the Little Claire challenge a go. I am a member of the Little Claire club which sends me a stamp each month with some instructions on how to make a particular card. I love the designs of all the Little Claire stamps I have had so far.  For my card today I went a bit grungy.  I used the Garden set (as I am finally starting to see some colour in my garden and am thinking i should make a start with planting seeds etc!!) and so I decided to "muddy" up the card with distress inks. I had a little doodle too which was fun. I used papermania dew drops but I only had the grey so I coloured them with one of my flex markers to make them a bit more pink.  My sentiment was from a selection of Little Claire  sentiment stamps that I have.  Hope you like x

I am entering this card for the Little Claire Challenge #32 "Spring and a Sketch"

Looking at some other challenges I thought I might also enter this card for the following:

Penny's Challenges (123) "Use a Sentiment"
Crafty Ribbons (43) "Pink and Green"
Stamping for the weekend (32) "Friendship"

Saturated Canary - Summer

Today I shall be mostly playing with Summer!!! She reminds me of my 8 year old!! Never wants her hair done, loves gardening and strawberries. I just need to think what I will do with this now.... Maybe another wall hanging, a picture, a card ??? Decisions decisions!!!!!

Saturated Canary Wall Hanging

I made this wall hanging for my daughter using the Saturated Canary Honey Stamp. I coloured her with pro markers and cut her out. Then I cut a grey backing with my Grand Labels Twenty Three. I cut down two pieces of chipboard and painted one with Martha Stewart acrylic paint (pink carnation). I inked the edges and random parts of the chipboard with silver ink and then spritzed with back ink. I stamped the sentiment from The Art Houses stamp set by Creative Expressions. I then used the heart rub on from She Art rub ins (artsy textures). The pink dots are taken from an idea I saw on Pinterest where I bunched five pencils together with erasers on the end, dipped the erasers in adirondack cranberry ink and stamped! The black circles are an old toothpaste top dipped in memento and stamped (a technique I learned from Kath Stweart at my recent retreat!). The superstar ticket is from the stamp set by docrafts Papermania happy days (Ticket Stubs) which I cut out, inked round the edges and stuck on. Once everything was dry I stuck my backing chipboard to the grey background, added my ribbon (from create and craft) and then stuck on the front chipboard. Finally I added a grey bow and tadaaa I was done!! Hope you like x

I would like to enter this for the following challenge:

Morning, today I thought I would share my paper piecing card. I stamped out various cupcakes using Hero Art Stamps, masking them to get some behind thos in the front row etc. Then I stamped the paper cases onto patterned paper, cut them out and stuck them on to the images. I did the same with the cake toppers. It took a while but I thought it looked quite effective in the end. Hope you like x

Card sketch ideas book

Today I thought I would share an idea from Kristina Werner of She provides details of her sketch ideas books and how to make them. She also provides the link for the PDF download of the inside pages. I think it's a great idea for jotting down your ideas and to refer to if you are stuck for card layout inspiration. Here's my finished book (just need the ideas now!!) Sorry the photos are not great!! Hope you like x

Saturated Canary

Today I have been playing with my pro markers again and colouring a Saturated Canary Stamp. This image reminds me of my eldest daughter as she has black Dr Martin boots and a rabbit called Mrs Bunny that she has had since birth! I am planning to attempt to make a little wall hanging with this so I will show you my final project once it is complete. For now though I hope you like x

It's arrived!!!!

Yay - second post today but had to share the projects I made at the Papeterie craft retreat. I took the following classes -

1. Anything but a card (spellbinders) with Erica Gunter - we made the So Sweet of you bag/box, pillow box and small box.
2. Spellbinder cards withErica again - we made three cards
3. Canvas project with Kath Stewart - we made the Art in Bloom canvas
4. Pro/Flex markers with Debbi Glennie - we made the Gorjuss notebook.
5. Messy masks with Kath Stewart - we made the Art wall hanging
6. Bonus class (with Debbi Glennie) at the hotel - we made 2 tags.

Colour Journal

Today I finished a project inspired by Debbi Glennie of I met her at the recent craft retreat I went to in Aberdeen and she is brilliant with pro markers!! I went to one if her classes in the retreat and I will post a picture of what I did with her as soon as it is delivered (hoping today!). Anyway, I met a woman named Tina who posted a picture of a previous retreat's project taught by Debbi - the Colour journal and I thought it was a great idea for testing colour themes and for me as a novice "colour inner" to practice my technique. I spent a while doing the front cover but I like how it turned out. I used two bull rings (is that what they are called?) to join it all together as I don't have a bind it all. Inside is some Neenah cardstock. The front and back covers are chipboard cut to A5 and covered with Neenah card. I used hero arts stamps, pro markers and my cricut to cut "Journal". Hope you like x

I heard some terribly sad news over the weekend. My dear friend lost her husband suddenly. I have made this card for her using a Hero Arts stamp. I am never sure what to write and so I looked at the following website and found this apt quote. My thoughts are with my friend and her family at this sad time. Xx

Home Again!

I had a fantastic time on the craft retreat with my Mum and sister and we met loads of like minded friends.  As I was flying home I had too many goodies to carry and decided to go with the Paperterie's offer to ship so I should get my stash and the beautiful projects that I made tomorrow.  Once they arrive I will post some pictures as the projects we made were fantastic!  Such a great time.  X
